Susan Nelson

Susan Nelson is a nationally respected government relations strategist and seasoned lobbyist with a proven record of success at the intersection of business, politics, and public policy. As President of Nelson Consulting, she represents a diverse portfolio of clients—including Fortune 500 companies, foreign governments, and nonprofit organizations—helping them navigate complex legislative and regulatory environments at both the federal and state levels.


With over two decades of experience, Ms. Nelson is widely recognized for her expertise in federal legislative affairs and her influential network among Republican Governors and their senior staff. She is known for delivering results through direct advocacy, relationship-building, and strategic engagement across political and policymaking arenas.


Before founding Nelson Consulting, Ms. Nelson held senior roles at some of the nation’s leading public affairs firms, including Navigators Global, LLC, Gray Loeffler, LLC, The Federalist Group, and Berman Enterprises. She also co-founded Eudy Nelson & Associates, a top-tier Washington, D.C. based political fundraising firm.


Ms. Nelson’s background in political finance is equally distinguished. She served as National Finance Director for Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign, overseeing national fundraising strategy and donor operations. During her tenure as Finance Director of the Republican Governors Association (RGA), she led record-breaking fundraising efforts during the 2002 election cycle, supporting 36 gubernatorial campaigns nationwide.


Currently, Ms. Nelson continues to play an active role in national politics as a member of the RGA’s National Finance Committee. She also serves as a senior advisor to the Michigan-based public relations firm Templar Baker.
